I really need to get further into Italy than Sicily. The one other time (passing through Florence) the museum etc were all closed due to strike action.
Everyone seems to have a story to tell about Florence. When I went there in 2008 I left my wallet and camera charger at home, I found it really difficult to get up in the morning after needing to pee all night and each meal was a struggle not to throw up and I was still surprised when I was told I was pregnant the week after! The museums were open though and I would definitely recommend going again.
