Today I bought some new sandals. I tend to go straight from boots to sandals with a short interlude via a well worn much loved pair of trainers. Anyway, I knew I really wanted a pair of Birkenstocks because I bought a fake pair last year and they are dying a death and they are so very comfortable. So after a false start, I found a suitably varied selection and bought a pair. I was kind of excited and wanted to show you all, so I searched for a picture on the internet. Instead I found an online store: millions of them, and all more gorgeous than the last, and all so much cheaper than in the shops.
You see the moral of this story is that if I hadn’t been so impatient to get it done, I would have done so much better. Grrr.
My entry is up for the Endless hour competition here.

I share your impatience, but that usually means the opposite for me -- I order it online in a mad passionate rush and then realize I could have gotten it from the corner store near my home that very evening. Either way. . .
What colour sandals, V?
There we go again. See maybe if I had started with the last line instead of the first line I would have made my point clearer! I was REALLY pissed off that I had rushed my Endless Hour entry.
But swiftly moving on GT: mmm, I just can't wait to order stuff online. When I decide to get something I want it NOW, but now that I've discovered that smorgasbord of Birkenstocks I'm wondering whether one pair is really enough for the whole summer!!!
And Susan I discovered so much yesterday, they are Black Papillio Indian garden... are you impressed? Man I was, I'm dreaming of all those different varieties right now instead of planning a boring meeting!
No, one pair is never enough. Also try Moshulu - my last pair of Birkenstock types from here lasted me about five years and they are more comfy.
Moshulu you say, mmm. Well I checked them out and have sent the link to a friend who is also after a pair of sandals. Me... I'm going to go and watch the footie now. I have also just realised that I have committed the ultimate faux pas. I have the red undies on today and Liverpool play tomorrow!!!
V, did I say something wrong? I seem to be doing that a lot these days.
Anyway, I liked your Endless Hour competition & the flavour of mystery it conjured up. Leave it. Don't look back or think about it if you're somewhat unhappy. Go on to the next thing & excel in the next thing. Live the moment! :-)
which online store, Miss V? Perhaps my lady can look at it.
And should I now consider calling you Imelda...? Just how many pairs do you think you might need?
Susan, no you didn't say anything wrong, I just posted wrong. Sorry. I will take your advice though and move on. I'm glad you liked the story. ( :
CS, I don't know how to do fancy web links but here it is: http://www.footshopping.com/default_welt.cfm?AktionID=2
And Atyllah, glad you're getting better. Ehm. Well I do remember once upon a few years ago ribbing a student about how many pairs of trainers she owned, but you know what they say about out of the mouth of babes: "Miss V." She replied. "You haven't worn the same pair of shoes once this week!" I didn't like to point out to her that they were BOOTS, young dear! Still, I haven't quite got to the Imelda stage.
Hi V
Just had an e-mail bounced back to me cos you're 'over quota'
Oh! Will have to check that out. Nice to see you again though Skint ( :
