The Unedited Highlights: A Verilion in Lyon

So here’s the deal. I had a great weekend in Lyon. I faced childhood fears head on, I hunted for lions, I traipsed through many a hidden secret passage. I loved things, I liked things and some things just made me perturbed. I would recommend that you all go visit and there’s no excuse because it’s only two hours away from Paris (if you live in Paris). But... as usual ... faced with the prospect of writing reports or just writing last week I ... eh ... somehow did both. And then my head exploded in those two hours there and those two hours back from Lyon, so I have to scribble it down NOW, tonight, before the week takes over. So here are some completely unedited highlights. More to come soon...

Mmm those six days of emptiness are rapidly filling up, what with catching up with posts, emptying cupboards, cleaning flat, clearing stuff out, waxing, packing...

V,
I'm glad you liked Lyon! Your photos are great! :) Did you get to the play in the end?

Yep. I did get to the play. It was really cool. Glad you posted those pictures up on your site. I knew exactly where not to sit and that table looked so appealing! It was really funny and I liked the ending too. We loved Elliot's accents, especially his American: "Je veut dire..." Oh and the Mother Superior. What a talented pair hey.

We were starving after so we didn't hang around for too long I'm afraid. Thanks for the tips we didn't get to do it all, but we tried to do a lot!

Do we have to start calling you Verilyon now?

Glad you had fun when you could, Verilion. :-)

Oh, great, glad you got there, and I'm glad you also found it funny. It would depend on a foreigner's French. Some of my English colleagues only get half of these things! :)

Hi Maht, sure you can call me Verilyon as long as I can call you Wayne ( ;

Oh and Shameless, there were a few bits I didn't catch. And then again the fact that I thought the Uncle was Portuguese to begin with is probably more to do with me being a little on the dumb side at times than my lack of comprehension. It's just he sounded exactly like the guy who works here!

Enjoy the Spring cleaning!

Packing? Did I miss something?

Welcome back!

Thanks for sharing the pictures of Lyon! Will go there one day with my family.

Hey apprentice, that's cool if you liked the shots, what with you being a top notch photographer and all and these being straight off the camera with no twiddling yet. And eh ... is it possible to enjoy spring cleaning?
Minx, I'll be packing my little red suitcase again soon. I'm going to go and sit in the sun for a week. Don't expect any exciting posts from that, it's purely R&R and a chance to watch the curious race who go on package holidays. Apparently I seem to be turning into that race.
And Canterbury Soul I would definitely recommend it.
