BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Ugh ugh gurrnuuh ugh ugh "Hello," said in very sleepy voice.
"Hello it's your postlady, you have a parcel," said in the bright spritely voice of one who has been up for hours.

Oh! Oh! Oh! Much spinning and frantic throwing on of clothes. Oh that's inside out, never mind. Oh!Oh! Skip, skip, skip. oh! Oh! Ooooohhhh!! Out the door, across the courtyard, open the door, jar arm badly as I try to open other door which is locked. Press the button you fool I can see written across the beatific features of the postie. I press the button, reach out my hand, say thank you and...

OH MY GOD I'VE GOT IT!!!

RRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrip.

Oh look at it!

Oooh let's look at it some more.

I've now owned Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for just under an hour. Normally I would be on page 55 by now. It's just that if I start it ... well, I'll finish it, and once it's finished, well it's finished.

Got mine too. Though I do confess the thrill has kinda worn off. I think I'm Pottered out. Still, as a children's writer I am obliged to settle down in front of the fire (remember, it's winter here) and read it... :-) Enjoy yours!

Enjoy!

Yeah AbVan, is it the thrill or because it's the last one? The end of something? I think that was part of the reason I was putting it off. The other part was that as I'm right in the middle of my piece I don't want to be muddled with other stories (note Lady Friday is right at the bottom of my pile). Anyway I've started now. Eek.
So I am enjoying it Marie, but there's plenty of distractions in between.

Nice post.

The author must get an extra thrill to know that at least one reader is so saddened by the thought of finishing the book that she puts off even starting it.

Go on, as Marie said, 'Enjoy'.

PS: I am also delaying my own pleasure by not going to the bookshop until Tuesday when my writing group meets.

I hope they haven't sold out.

Oooh Sally, the writing group I occasionally drop into was at 3pm yesterday. By the time I got there at 2.50 the whole big stand of books was EMPTY... Still they'll have time to re-order by Tuesday.

I'm having to wait until eldest has finished it. Then I'll probably go AWOl from family for a day or so...:-)

Hi Jon, I've been popping over to your site and I see that you've got a good read to keep you going in the meanwhile! Enjoy HP when you get it and I hope you don't laugh out loud when you get to page 52. I think it was nerves, I'm not really that heartless.

Well, I'm now halfway through - would love to know how you're finding it...

I've just finished it AbVan, don't want to say too much, but plenty of the salty stuff was spilled. I'm such a sop!
And perhaps I should just add now to Sally, that just because the book stand in Paris was empty doesn't mean it will be in London, but just that if it is they will... Oh never mind. I'm all confounded.
